Nella Buscot sur FacebookInjalbert and the "Villa Antonine"

Visit of the Villa Antonine, at Béziers (Hérault / France), haven of peace, where there was the summer workroom of the famous sculptor Jean-Antoine Injalbert (1845 - 1933, "Grand Prix de Rome" 1874)
![]() | Memories I was two years old when, answering to the invitation of Mme Paule Paget, sole legatee of Injalbert, I discovered the sculptor's garden, at Béziers - his house was next my parents's. I remember that I was wondered when I saw the columns, headed by faces of satyres. These sculptures, in this wonderful park, gave off extraordinary force and sweetness at the same time... |
My parents moved away and lived then ... Boulevard Injalbert.
| One must think that sculpture was inscribed in my destiny, for my grandparents living in Calais, we had to visit the "Six Bourgeois", a famous Rodin's sculpture which occupies a place of honour behind the Town Hall. Other coincidence, our summer house is "square Magrou", another sculptor! | ![]() |
